Rename commands

The whole message has to match the command, capital letters don't matter. Leave a field empty to keep the default.

Stream Countdown Integration

When someone on your list types a countdown command like !countdown break 5m or !cd break 5m, the bridge runs what you set for that purpose: it switches scenes, mutes and hides sources, and puts them back at zero, on !countdown cancel, or as soon as you switch away. Sources you had muted or hidden already stay that way. Set up the Stream Countdown overlay

What is it for?

Nothing set up yet, so the bridge leaves !countdown to the overlay.

Source Health & Auto Switch

Watches a Media Source, like the SRT feed from your IRL phone, through OBS. When it stops playing, ends, freezes or keeps buffering for a few seconds, the bridge switches to your BRB scene, restarts the source every 10 seconds and switches back once it plays again. Leave "Close file when inactive" off on the source (it is by default), so the bridge sees the feed come back while BRB is live.

Nothing to watch yet: name a media source, or set a bitrate floor.

OBS Connection

Scenes

The scenes brb and back switch to. Type the names exactly as OBS shows them, or click Main and BRB next to a scene in the preview once OBS is connected: the pick lands here and in the tool URL.

Tool Preview

Fill in at least one channel to generate preview.

Open it in a browser tab or an OBS Custom Browser Dock and keep it open while you stream.

Let the people you trust switch OBS scenes, show, hide and mute sources, and start or stop your stream and recording from Twitch or Kick chat. The bridge runs in a browser tab or an OBS dock and talks to OBS directly. There is nothing to download and no login: it just reads your chat.

How to set it up

  1. In OBS, open Tools → WebSocket Server Settings, turn on the WebSocket server and copy the password from Show Connect Info.
  2. Enter your channel, the people allowed to run commands and the password, then copy the tool URL.
  3. Open the URL in a browser tab or an OBS Custom Browser Dock and pick your Main and BRB scenes.
  4. Using a dock? After picking scenes, press Copy Updated URL and paste it into the dock, since a dock keeps opening the URL it was created with.

Frequently asked questions

How does the !scene chat command work?

Someone on your list types the command, a space and a scene name, like !scene Gaming. OBS Bridge first looks for a scene with exactly that name, capital letters don't matter, then for the first scene whose name contains it, and switches to it.

Is my OBS WebSocket password safe?

The connection to OBS goes straight from your browser to OBS. But the password is saved in the tool URL, and opening that URL loads the page from extensions.senchabot.com with the password in it. So treat the link like a password: don't share it and don't show it on stream.

Why did my scene picks disappear in the OBS dock?

Scene picks and user changes are saved in the tool page's URL. A browser tab keeps them if you bookmark the page, but an OBS dock always opens the URL it was created with. Press Copy Updated URL on the tool page and paste the new URL into the dock.

Do I need to install anything or log in?

No. OBS Bridge is a web page. Open the tool URL in a browser tab or an OBS Custom Browser Dock and it talks to OBS over obs-websocket, built into OBS Studio 28 and later. The commands come from your public Twitch or Kick chat, so there is no account to connect and nothing to install.
